Minutes of the April 28th, 2009 meeting
Present: Ken Hulka (director), Melanie Lyonnais (commissioner), Cheryl Clarke (commissioner), Chad Parker (commissioner)
Absent: Dean Six (commissioner), Sue Keglovitz (commissioner)
Also Present: Richard Munroe (3292 Sheringer Rd.), Rob Nichols (fence/soccer park), Lisa Lee (Fruitport Youth Club)
Cheryl Clarke called the meeting to order.
Ken Hulka received the proposal from Cornelisse Design regarding assisting in application for a 2010 Michigan DNR trust fun grant. Ken will scan and e-mail to the Board.
Diamond dust is being purchased for the baseball and softball fields.
Chad Parker, on behalf of the soccer group, asked Ken what the next step is regarding the soccer park. Ken stated that the land needs to be leveled and seeded, electricity needs to be available, a well and parking needs to be established. Ken believes inexpensive millings can be acquired for the base of the parking lot. The soccer group has already paid Franklin Contractors to provide the leveling and seeding, which was not completed satisfactorily. Rob Nichols stated that the soccer group needs to contact Franklin Contractors to complete the job that he has been paid to do.
Lisa Lee is concerned that the concession stand at Farr Field will not pass inspection to sell items that are not prepackaged due to not having a 3 bin sink. Ken will look into having the sink replaced.
The Board has directed Ken to draft a letter to Dean Six requesting his resignation as he has not attended a meeting since his term began in November 2008.
Next meeting set for Tuesday, May 26th, 2009 at 6pm at the Township Hall.
