Absent:

Also Present: Ross Spike (Beach Baseball Club)

Cheryl Clarke called the meeting to order.

The Board received Departmental Revenues & Expenditures for Fruitport Charter Township period ended 1/31/10 for Fund 208 Park Recreation Fund and Disbursement Report for 1/1/10-1/31/10.

Letters of support are needed from youth clubs supporting soccer park to aid in grant process.

A notice will appear in the paper that the application for the grant is available for public viewing.

Cheryl made a motion to adopt the resolution to forward to Township Board for adoption.  Chad seconded the motion.  All were in favor.

Ross would like to have a T-ball size field at Pine Park.  In 2009, there were 6 T-ball teams consisting of 11-12 kids each.  The Board is seeking approval to remove the shuffleboard court and possibly use this space for the field.  Beach Baseball Club needs to submit a written proposal including, space, cost and location.  Ken will contact GLS for an aerial photo of Pine Park.  Lion’s Club may be a source for funding.  Ross will also check-out Reeths Puffer T-ball field for ideas.

Chad states soccer needs more space for practice in the spring.  Ken will look into Farr Field as long as the fields are not too wet due to the high water table.

First Saturday in May is opening day for baseball.

Next meeting set for Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010 at 6pm at the Township Hall.
