Minutes of the October 25, 2011 meeting

Absent: Chad Parker (commissioner)

The Board received Departmental Revenues & Expenditures for Fruitport Charter Township periods ending 8/31/11 & 9/30/11 for Fund 208 Park Recreation Fund and Disbursement Reports for 9/1/11-9/30/11.
There have been a few delays at the soccer complex with having the grass seed spread due to weather, but it has now been completed. Water is on site. A generator was rented for approx. $650 for 1 week due to Consumer’s Energy not having electric available on time.
There is approximately $15,000 leftover from the budget for the soccer complex. We may be able to have more paving completed in this phase. The only items that have not been completed at this time are the light posts, trash cans and bleachers.
The parks are in the process of being shut down and winterized.
Some vandalizing is still being done around the parks. The tennis nets at Pine Park were cut.
The rock and plaque honoring George Pressler has been placed at Pine Park.
On November 5th a church group (same one from last year) will be going out to the parks to do some clean-up including taking care of leaves.
The Commission still plans on creating a t-ball field at Pine Park next fall to be ready for Spring 2013.
Next meeting set for Tuesday, November 22nd, 2011 at 6pm at the Township Hall.
