The Fruitport Charter Township Utilities Department maintains the Township’s water and sanitary sewer systems. The Utility crews responsibilities include but are not limited to monitoring and maintaining water quality standards for the system, maintaining water mains, installing taps, installing and maintaining water meters, meter reading, water and sewer trench inspections, monitoring and maintaining four (4) sewer lift stations throughout the Township. Hydrants are maintained by painting, flushing and repairing so that they will remain functional at all times. Valves are turned annually throughout the system to keep them operational.
The Utilities Department is located within the Township Hall at 6543 Airline Rd., Fruitport, MI. Our hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, except for holidays. We can be reached at 231-865-3158.
Utility bills can be paid by cash, check or money order. There is a drop box located at the entrance to our building for after hour payments, please include service address on payments.
Our office staff will assist you in setting up appointments and answering questions related to water and sewer billing or water, sewer and road assessments. When moving out of your home; please call to schedule an appointment to meet our serviceman for a final meter reading. When moving into a home within our Township service area; please call to set up new billing information. Please call at least 24 hours in advance to schedule all appointments.
