By law, taxes are due Sunday, February 14th, however should that day fall on a weekend or holiday the next business day is used to conduct business. On Monday, February 15, 2010 the Fruitport Township Hall will be closed for President's Day. The township offices will reopen Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at 8am. Anyone wishing to pay their taxes on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 will not incur a penalty, however penalty will be added for any payment made thereafter.
March 1, 2010 will be the last day to pay taxes or purchase a dog license at the Fruitport Township offices. At close of that day taxes will go delinquent to the Muskegon County Treasurer and dog tags must be purchased, with penalties, at the Muskegon County Health Department or Vector Control.
